We handle every system, whether big or small, with great professionalism. Once the inspection is completed we will give you a detailed report thoroughly describing your system and the title v inspections result.
Title V inspections require the inspector to inspect the tank and distribution box as well as other components if necessary. These inspections are valid for up to two years.
Why do I need an inspection?
The State of Massachusetts requires that there be a title v inspection completed before the sale of any home or if you add on additional bedrooms. This is done to make sure that your septic is working correctly for future owners and/or increased use.
What are the possible outcomes? Â
There are 3 possible outcomes for the title v inspection- pass, fail, and conditional pass.
Pass
If your septic system passes then everything is working, as it should and the inspector does not foresee any issues in the near future.
Conditional Pass
If your septic system conditionally passes it means that there is a repairable component that needs to be fixed in order for your system to work properly. For example, if your distribution box or septic tank is rotten, broken or if a pipe is crushed or clogged. If any of these issues occur during your inspection we will show you the problem, provide you with an explanation and come up with a solution to make sure that your septic system will continue to work properly. Once we have fixed the problem it will be inspected by the Board of Health for your town and a certificate of compliance will be issued.
Fail
If your system fails we will explain why and then help guide you through the necessary steps to get a passing inspection. The most common reason for a failed inspection is a failed leaching area, meaning the waste water that is being produced from your home is not dissipating causing a health risk to you, the public and any water supplies nearby.
